Integrate personal mailbox into Outlook

Outlook Windows

1.

E-mail accounts are configured in Outlook via "File > + Add account".

2.

The following must be entered for automatic configuration.

Your name:
-> surname, first name

Email address:
-> University email address

Password:
-> AD password


Confirm with Continue.

3.

The configuration is now checked. If all the ticks are green, the setup is finalised by clicking Finish.

You now have access to all Exchange functionalities:

  • E-mail
  • calendar
  • Contacts
  • Tasks
  • notes

1.

When Outlook is started for the first time or alternatively via "Tools > Accounts...".

2.

The following must be entered for automatic configuration.

Method:
-> user name and password

E-mail address:
-> university e-mail address

DOMAIN\User name or email:
-> uni-bielefeld.de\Uni email address
(e.g. uni-bielefeld.de\maxi.muster@uni-bielefeld.de)

Note Backslash on a Mac:
key combination Shift + Option (Alt) + 7

Password:
-> AD password

Server:
-> mail.uni-bielefeld.de


Confirm with Add account .

3.

With this message, the account has been successfully integrated.

Exit via Done.

Solution for integration problem with Outlook 2019 / O365

When using Outlook 2019 or the Office 365 version on Windows, there may be an issue with the integration that the email address and password entry fails.

Installing a special registry key will fix this issue.

Note:
This is already installed on all computers in the university's AD.

1.

Download the zip file.

2.

Unzip the ExcludeExplicitO365Endpoint.zip file.

3.

Execute the unzipped registry file ExcludeExplicitO365Endpoint.reg by double-clicking it on the Windows computer.

4.

Restart Outlook (close and reopen).

5.

Re-integrate the mailbox using the instructions .
